Extended Family Care Hosts Ventilator Training
On June 3, 2015 Extended Family Care held a nursing in-service covering the proper use and maintenance of various ventilators used throughout their private duty business. Extended Family Care, a division of Star Multi Care, has been providing pediatric and adult services to clients since 1938. Ensuring their nurses are highly trained and proficient with the life-sustaining equipment used in their daily business operations was the main intention for hosting the session yet it turned out to be much more.
The training was provided through Adult & Pediatric Specialists a division of LinCare. The company has been supplying state of the art respiratory equipment to clients since 1965. Tania Ciano, CRT, taught two sessions at Extended Family Care’s Pittsburgh office with over 25 nurses attending the program. “I think we found a great partner”, said Laura Partridge, Business Development Manager for Star Multi Care. “It is refreshing to find a company that is willing to share resources for the benefit of our clients”. “LinCare has provided an excellent training session and we have received very favorable feedback from the nurses in attendance today”, she continued.
Extended Family Care and LinCare hope to enhance their commitment to clients throughout the Western Pennsylvania area. After discussing their similar service locations throughout the United States as well as the extensive listing of contracted insurances each of the companies accept, they feel each of their companies will benefit by working together.
Providing high quality care is the motivation for both companies. When the nursing staff is highly skilled and competent with the skills necessary to maximize patient care and treatment it benefits everyone. “We hope to continue to develop a lasting relationship with LinCare and other companies with the same philosophy through all of our service locations, Laura concluded”.
